Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and other senior ministry officials attended an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Defense Ministry’s main clinical hospital, the ministry told AZERTAC.
At the beginning, flowers were laid at the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev erected on the territory of the hospital, the memory of the great leader and the shehids (martyrs) who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored to observe a minute of silence.
After meeting the medical staff, the Minister of Defense congratulated them on a special day and wished them success in honorable and responsible service.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov noted that the work on the development of the army started by national leader Heydar Aliyev has been successfully continued by the head of state today. It was pointed out that successes in all areas, including in the field of military medicine, were achieved thanks to the reforms carried out thanks to the attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Defense Minister said that the current scientific and technical base of the hospital provides all the possibilities for in-depth scientific work and research, as well as the improvement of the professionalism of medical personnel.
The Minister stressed that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief highly appreciates the dedication shown by military doctors and medical personnel during the Patriotic War. It was noticed that as a result of state attention and care, 259 people, who lost their health during the Patriotic War, were sent for examination and treatment to foreign countries and that the vast majority of them have completed their treatment and returned to the Motherland. It was noted that, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 17,995 certificates issued by the Central Military Medical Commission of the Ministry of Defense have been entered into the electronic information subsystem up to to August 2, 1997. Colonel General Zakir Hasanov thanked medical workers for their efforts during the Patriotic War to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield, provide medical assistance to 11,110 people and ensure their speedy recovery.
The Minister of Defense carried out the tasks entrusted to the Azerbaijani army by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, and gave relevant instructions on the further improvement of the service medical.
Other speakers thanked the President and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the modern conditions created in the units. It was noted that the medical corps, equipped with modern medical devices and equipment, makes it possible to provide a high level of service to the military and their families. The medical personnel promised to do their best to protect the health of military personnel and to perform the tasks assigned by the President and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense with dignity and high professionalism.
Finally, a group of employees of the military hospital, who distinguished themselves in service, were rewarded for their discipline.
The event ended with a concert program presented by the staff of the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov.
