The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance invites runners and local food enthusiasts to “Run and Walk for Our Farms” on October 16 at Delaware Valley University, rain or shine.

All proceeds go to the Foodshed Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a resilient local food system in the community through education and collaboration.

The Foodshed 5K is a timed race with several prize categories. This year, BCFA will also be organizing a 3 km walk and family scavenger hunt for children and families. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. and the 3K walk will start at 10 a.m.

Registrations are open and available online at BucksFoodshed.org/5K. Registration fees are $ 25 to $ 35; no refund will be issued.

Running t-shirts will be provided to registrants while supplies last. The university offers free parking on the main campus, and event attendees are welcome to use the indoor washrooms in its life science building.

Light refreshments, water points and an air-conditioned lounge / gathering space will be provided. The 5K prizes are awarded to men and women and the top three men and women in eight age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 years old, 60-69 years old, 70 years old and over.

Same-day registration begins on campus at 8 a.m.
