It’s around this time of month that Microsoft releases new optional cumulative updates for Windows 10.

However, since the patches are all the same, they all have identical parts. If you are using any of these versions or an Insider on Windows 10 version 21H2, you will get KB5006738.

Resolve an issue that prevents you from accessing the pre-provisioning page during the out-of-the-box experience (OOBE).

A new feature called “Content Security Policy” is now available.

This update fixes an issue with assigned base stations configured using Microsoft Edge as a kiosk app.

When users sign in using Windows Hello for Business after losing the VPN connection, a primary refresh token (PRT) update issue occurs.

This hotfix fixes a Kerberos.dll issue that may cause a malfunction in the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS).

The Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) is a Windows component that, among other things, protects the system against malicious activity by enabling or restricting access to processes protected by LSASS. This occurs when multiple application clients request concurrent User-to-User (U2U) service for the same user.

Many users complained that the network status text on the credentials screen was incorrect. This hotfix corrects an issue with Server Message Block (SMB) query directory requests, which causes them to fail when the buffer size is too large.

Memory leaks in domain controllers in the forest root domain when you have multiple forests and domains in each.

When you have multiple forests and domains in each, the SID-Name mapping loses memory when a request comes from another domain in the forest and crosses the forest boundaries. When an address is found for a virtual machine (VM), it uses the value of the fault domain rather than its actual value.

There are a few known issues with this update. The Edge Legacy browser will be removed if you have a custom offline installer, but it might not be replaced with the new Edge. There was also an issue in June 2018 when there were difficulties installing future updates afterwards.

As usual, these are optional updates. This means that you will be able to discover them in Windows Update if you don’t already have them, but you won’t be required to install them unless you don’t already have them.

The next big feature update, the Windows 10 November 2021 update, is expected to be released shortly.
